Saint Vincent De Paul was born in a small town in the southern part of France, he was later renamed Saint Vincent De Paul in his honor, on April 24th 1581 his parent didn't know but a amazing human being would be alive that day. By the age of 19 Vincent De Paul wanted to become a priest so he did in the year 1600 at age 19 he was already a priest one of the youngest priest in his day. Vincent De Paul showed compassion to the poor and gave them food and money and most importantly love. After founding the Congregation of the mission in 1625 Vincent De Paul traveled around Paris working for charity and helping the poor, Vincent was like a nurse to the sick and poor he would give them love and show them compassion. Vincent De Paul sadly passed away at the age of 79 in 1660 27 of September but he is still remembered to this day, there is even a whole charity about him in Christchurch where people donate there stuff to give to the poor, some schools have young vinnies young vinnies are people that help the poor and serve others

Writing bingo

 Hey Readers,

This week in lock down for writing when you have finished all your activities you could do a writing bingo, it was a bunch of creative ideas that you could write about, the concept of the writing bingo board was that you finished every task on a row, it could be going diagonal or up down or any way you want as long as its in a straight line, i choose to go with the one in the middle going to the side, i choose this one because i though they were all creative ideas and i thought they were funny, the first one was Weird email which was you had to write an e-mail about an animal of our choice.

Here is my DLO about the writing bingo

What Catholics believe about Mary

 Hey readers,

So this first week of lock down in R.E we have mainly been learning about Mary but there are many other names for Mary such as Blessed Mary ever virgin, Mother of God and many more, Why do Catholics worship her? Well they dont they pray to her. Mary was a Jewish girl chosen by God to be the mother of Jesus, Mary was told by God who sent angels down to earth that she would be the one, the one who is the Mother of Jesus, God had a plan for Mary at the Annunciation where the Angel visited her and said "Hail,  full of Grace."  and told Mary she would give birth to God's Son, she could have declined this offer but she said "yes" This took courage for Mary who was a Virgin and remanded one her whole life. How could that happen if she was a Virgin? Mary convinced Jesus "not with a man but with the Holy Spirit" Mary said. Why do Catholics pray to Mary? Think about the times you have been ill or in trouble and asked a friend or family member to pray for you well since the earliest days of the Church we have asked Mary to pray for us not because we worship her we dont or because she has the power to change things only God does but because we believe  she will bring our needs to jesus just as she did to the wedding couple. We honor Mary for her part in bringing God's love into others.

Orana Park

 Hey readers,

So this week our senior school which is year 7 and 8 gone to Orana Park for the day, We went their in a car for transport. When we where on are to Orana Park there was a massive jump and i didn't even notice because i was talking to Rico, and then suddenly it felt like low gravity and we just jumped in midair in the car, after the jump everyone just started laughing. When we finally got there after a long car ride we saw are school on the other side of the car park so we went over to them and they got us into 2 lines room 5 and room 6, we had to listen to all the instructions, so Sarah ( our instructor for the day ) led us to zoo school which is were they they tell us what animal we are going to see next and all about the animals, so Sarah led us to the frogs which was axolotls and other types of frogs on the left side there are native animals from New Zealand and on the right there is non native animals, after we saw the frogs we went to the tigers which was laying down on the ground but when it saw us it got up and was guarding its territory then the other tiger was just chilling in the shade behind a tree, next we saw the lions they were just sitting down not moving, we kept going round the zoo and then we gone to the cheetahs which was really cool because we saw one up close and then we saw it walk away to the other cheetahs, but then it was lunch time so we had some lunch and then we went to see the gorillas but on the way to the gorillas we saw other animals like Wild African dogs that were just running around, we also saw some addax that were just lying down because it was a hot day for them, but them we saw the gibbons which was perfect timing because they were just getting fed as we got there and we saw them run and it was weird because there arms are massive but there legs are tiny, they need long arms in the wild to help them swing from tree to tree, after we saw the gibbons we finally saw the gorilla he was bigger than i though he would be, he was eating protein that the keepers put all over the ground which helps them get big and strong, after we left the gorillas we gone to the giraffes and we got to feed them and when i was a baby a giraffe lifted me up so i was pretty scared to feed it but i did it and his grip on his tongue was so strong and his tongue was purple and blue, after we fed the giraffes we gone to the Rhinos which were just lying down in the sun. After we visited all the animals we had to go back to school, we went in the same car and i was talking to Rico about all the animals and then hes just like "yo the jump is right there" so then we went over the bump and we went flying in the air and it was so fun then we all started laughing.

Would you want to go to Orana Park?
